Citizen Potawatomi Nation has been made aware of unauthorized letters falsely claiming to represent Citizen Potawatomi Nation Housing regarding home loans and/or warranties. These letters may ask Tribal members to “call to verify” and/or threaten a potential financial liability. Neither the letters nor the envelopes contain an address or identifying company information.
These letters are fraudulent and are not official communications from Citizen Potawatomi Nation, CPN Housing, or any other CPN financial institution or department. Any official communication from Citizen Potawatomi Nation Housing will be on official letterhead and include CPNHD contact information and/or may be sent by certified mail for signature.
CPN takes the safety of its members and residents seriously. Members are advised to exercise caution and are advised not to call or otherwise share personal information or make payment in response to these letters.
