Bozho (Hello),
I think there is something wrong with my alarm clock. I keep waking up in the morning and I’m greeted with a new month. I’m a heavy sleeper, but this year is in high gear. I am so grateful for the work that Chris Lenggenhager has done for our CPN Veterans Organization. He has made a lot of progress on issues we have had, and he knows how to get things done. Thank you, Chris.
We have several parades coming up, such as Tecumseh’s Frontier Days Parade at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, and special events until 5 p.m. Remember, all CPN veterans and their families are invited to join us on our veterans’ trailer for the parade; you don’t have to be a member of the organization, just a CPN veteran or spouse and kids. The more kids the better.
On Saturday, Oct. 25, we have our biggest parade at the Wewoka Sorghum Festival, and the Tecumseh Grinchmas Parade, which is a lot of fun, but be sure to dress warm. I will have dates and times for these events as we get closer to the event.
Remember, our Citizen Potawatomi Nation’s Veterans meetings are held at the Citizen Potawatomi Nation’s Cultural Heritage Center in the Veterans’ Memorial Hall on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. (or as soon as you can get there). Bring the family and have dinner on us.
