Bozho
(Hello),

Attention CPN veterans and veteran spouses: I have an announcement to make. The CPN Veterans Organization will begin having our monthly meetings again on Tuesday, Sept. 21, in the North Reunion Hall at 6 p.m., or as soon as you can get there. Pizza will be served. Remember, all CPN veterans and spouses with their families are welcome.

The CPN Veterans Organization’s Color Guard has begun presenting the colors at events. We have lost several of our active members. Some have moved away, and others have walked on. All will be greatly missed. The parades and presenting the colors at events are our way of representing the Citizen Potawatomi Nation.

We have a number of events planned for our color guard. In October, we will present the colors for an event at the Grand Casino Hotel & Resort and a parade at the Wewoka Sorghum Festival. In September, we have the Tecumseh Frontier Days Festival Parade. You do not have to be a member of the Veterans Organization to participate in the parades with us. We have a trailer, since several of our members can no longer march and carry a flag, myself included. All you need is your own lawn chair. It’s a great feeling to see the support we get from the kids and adults watching us pass by. It really makes you feel proud. CPN veterans and spouses, please join us. If you can’t make it to the upcoming events, we will be participating in others in the future and welcome you to join us.
