“The Native American Speaks” host Michael Dodson switches roles today. He is interviewed by Shawnee Outlook Managing Editor Mindy Wood about the pending creation of a local news department for the Citizen Potawatomi Nation-owned KGFF-AM (1450) radio. Dodson will move from his position as CPN Director of Public Information to create the news department. He talks about having worked in radio news across Oklahoma for the initial 21 years of his career – from 1974 to 1995.
Dodson describes covering some of the more important events in Oklahoma during that period – the Karen Silkwood trial, the Gene Leroy Hart trial in the 1977 Camp Scott Girl Scouts triple-murder, several sessions of the Oklahoma legislature. He explains that www.KGFFNews.com will become a repository for additional news stories, including photos and video that don’t make it into KGFF newscasts.
