Larry Hott, co-producer of The War of 1812, a documentary set to air on PBS on the evening of October 10, discusses the import of the war for Native Americans, Canada, the United States, and England. Hott describes the very important role Indians played, especially as allies of the British. He delves into little known facts from the war, especially that the United States was ill-prepared, with regard to military leaders and troops. He outlines the most important battles and campaigns from among the thousands from the war, which did not end until 1815.
