Registration is open for a golf tournament Sept. 24 sponsored by the Joseph Harp Correctional Center in Lexington to benefit Special Olympics. The tournament will be at FireLake Golf Course in Shawnee, with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Entry fee is $50 per person, which includes greens fees, range balls, cart, goody bag, lunch, and a T-shirt. Trophies will be awarded to first- and second-place winners in the divisions.
Entries must be received by Sept. 3. This is the 20th year the medium-security prison has sponsored a golf tournament to raise money for Special Olympics, spokeswoman Debbie Dorris said.
