DESCRIPTION:CPN Workforce and Social Services will host a Summer Project Showcase at CPN’s Cultural Heritage Center on August 2 and 3\, 2022. Projects can include cooking\, art or science projects\, growing plants and more\, and must be submitted by August 1 to Sandie Rogers at Workforce and Social Services. The showcase is open to students grades preschool to twelfth. Prizes will be awarded for top projects\, and a $25 gift card will be given to all entrants. \nJudging will be held from 9-11:30 am on August 2\, and the showcase will be open to the public on August 3. For decades\, Lee has campaigned to make Juneteenth a federal holiday. lee helped to lead a 2.5 mile walk in recognition of the 2.5 years it took for the news of the Emancipation Proclamation to reach Texas. In June 2021\, at the age of 94\, Lee joined President Biden as he signed the bill to make Juneteenth a federal holiday into law. \nAdditional speakers include Tribal Chairman John “Rocky” Barrett\, Gary Jones\, Rev. John A. Reed\, Rev. Major Jemison\, Anastasia Pittman\, Rev.
