Bozho
(Hello),

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Office of Tribal Government Relations (OTGR) highlights tribes’ top priorities for serving American Indian needs. The office has a website that allows you to view its 2015 consultation report at va.gov/tribalgovernment.

Tribal veterans are beginning to reap the benefits of their service via Veterans Housing and Mortgages programs, VA reimbursement to Indian Health Services and Tribal Health Programs and support of recognition of the Native American veterans’ heritage programs. Check out our own Veterans Wall of Honor display at Citizen Potawatomi Nation’s Cultural Heritage Center in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and contribute to its collection of history. Migwetch (Thank you).

Remember, the CPN Veterans Organization meets around 6 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month in the North Reunion Hall on the Potawatomi Powwow Grounds in Shawnee. All CPN and spouse veterans and their families are welcome. A meal is provided.
