Charles Lee is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. He graduated valedictorian from Bethel High School and attended the University of Oklahoma (OU) with help from the Gates Millennium Scholarship. In 2010, he graduated with distinction from OU with a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema Studies. His experience extends from being a camp counselor and advisor for local summer camps to jobs in the service industry and social work. In August 2018, he happily joined the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Department of Education where he could fulfill his passion for helping students. As a college advisor, he cultivates an environment of trust and cooperation with students as they try to navigate together the sometimes overwhelming landscape of higher education. He informs students of scholarship opportunities and helps them prepare for college culture. His primary focus is on students with the last name A-H, but his door is open to all students. He is passionate about helping students find ways to overcome obstacles on their path to a degree because he would not have been able to go to university without scholarships.
