The Pioneer Library System of central Oklahoma donates books to Women, Infants, and Children programs, including Citizen Potawatomi Nation Health Services. Tribal member Britt Muirhead leads the initiative as the programming specialist for PLS.
CPN’s Women, Infant and Children’s programs found new and innovative ways to continue serving clients across 7 counties in central OK during the pandemic. WIC assists more than 1,400 individuals each month, providing access to nutritious foods & education to low & moderate-income clients.
CPN WIC and health facilities provide children’s books to all patients and visitors under the age of 4 thanks to a large donation by the Pioneer Library Foundation.
The Citizen Potawatomi Nation Women, Infant, Children program recently acquired a new van to be used as a mobile clinic for clients unable to reach its main location.
