Citizen Potawatomi Nation has updated its census form to include both tribal members and tribal employees in order to obtain contact information and demographic details. The first part of the census is an emergency response form. The data will be used for emergency response efforts in other states as well in disaster situations such as the Joplin tornado, Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Sandy, California Wild Fires, etc. The second part of the census collects geographic data to assist CPN self-governance and other CPN programs with grant applications that are used to fund numerous tribal programs and departments.

The addition of an employee survey is intended to help CPN reach out in the same capacity to its tribal and non-tribal employees. There is also a specific set of questions that may be used to determine if individuals are eligible for funding of new storm shelters in the future.
