Citizen Potawatomi Nation’s Cultural Heritage Center Curator Blake Norton and Director Dr. Kelli Mosteller lead a lecture about George Winter, an English artist who captured sketches and paintings of the Potawatomi before and during removal. One painting in particular – The Council at Keewawnay – highlights his vast skills, which included field sketching, writing and rapport building with others, especially Native Americans.
