J.D. McCarty Center Director Curtis Peters, Director of Development Uwe von Schamann, and Marketing Director Greg Gaston discuss the Center’s new Camp ClapHans venture. Camp ClapHans will be a one-week summer camp on the Center’s grounds in northeast Norman, for its patients, children with developmental disabilities.
The McCarty Center is named for the late former Oklahoma House Speaker. His widow, Mary McCarty of Oklahoma City, is a CPN member. The camp honors Sammy Jack Claphan (Cherokee), an OU and San Diego Chargers lineman who taught special needs children after his football retirement. Learn more about the J.D.
