The guests are Sarah Hicks (Alutliq) a doctoral candidate at Washington University and director of the NCAI Policy Research Center, and Jaime Pinkham (Nez Perce), watershed program manager for the Columbia River Intertribal Fish Commission. They discuss Native nations’ efforts to enhance their relationships with other governments as a way to advance their nation-building objectives. They explain how some Native nations are forging mutually beneficial intergovernmental agreements and chronicle the many advantages to forging similar intertribal arrangements.
