On the first Wednesday of June each year, joggers across the country increase their speed in honor of National Running Day. Since 2009 the country’s foremost running organizations have worked together to encourage runners, both competitive and novices alike, to plan a run themselves, set a new goal for their personal runs or sign up for a competition. Amongst the most popular of those running competitions are 5ks.
