Citizen Potawatomi Nation received a GFOA (Government Finance Officers Association) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting recently.
The certificate of achievement was for CPN’s annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, 2023.
According to GFOA, the report was judged by an impartial panel and found to meet the program’s high standards, such as “demonstrating a constructive ‘spirit of full disclosure’ to clearly communicate its financial story.”
“The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of government accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management,” a press release from GFOA said.
Mary Chisholm, CPN’s chief financial officer, said this is the Nation’s 36th consecutive award, the most consecutive awards for any tribal nation.
