DISTRICT #2
REP. EVA MARIE CARNEY

You should have received your September HowNiKan and seen my report on the September naming ceremony in North Carolina. I've also posted pictures on my website (evamariecarney.com) so you can get a good sense of how the ceremony is set up/conducted.
The Legislature reviewed and approved the FY 2010 budget in late September -- look for highlights in my next HNK column, which is now posted to my website. Also, please check out Rep. Dave Carney's new website, www.dave-carney.com, for very accessible information on CPN issues, benefits, and opportunities.
Our next District #2 Event is a get together (with delicious lunch at the Mitsitam Native Foods Cafe) at the National Museum of the American Indian on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Over 50 guests already have RSVPed as of this mid-October posting. We'll meet at 10:30 a.m. on Sat., November 14th at the Group Entrance, to avoid the crowds with VIP admission, and I'll pass out lunch vouchers at that time (and will plan to save tables for us to dine together). There will also be a post-lunch VIP tour of the Museum. See NMAI website for directions. Your children are welcome if you accompany them. Please RSVP today!
