The Potawatomi Language Department currently has several options avalable for interested students. We are beginning a new Beginners class starting January 21st each Monday from 5:30-6:30.
We also now have Online classes available. Our goal is to make learning Potawatomi accessible to all Potawatomis, no matter where they choose to live. Don Perrot is teaching an Online class at 7:00 p.m. CST on Mondays and Wednesdays. For more information, e-mail Don at neaseno@yahoo.com.
Justin Neely is teaching an Online lunch-time class at 12:15 p.m. on Mondays for beginners and Wednesdays an intermediate class. Other classes and times might become available as interest dictates. Please spread the news by telling family members and friends.
The Language Department is teaching in the CPN Child Development Center each week. The goal is to teach Potawatomi to our newest generation. It has been amazingly gratifying to teach our children.
The Language Department has placed materials online, making them much more accessible for our members. There are a variety of sound clips available, segregated into beginner, intermediate, and advanced categories. We will soon add pod casts.
Other ongoing projects include cultural teachings, drumming as well as a mens and boys youth lacrosse team.
