The Language Department hopes this section will be an area were tribal members can learn a little about some of our traditional ceremonies as well as access some of the many scriptural pieces whch have been written in Potawatomi. We hope to add the ten commandments, and othere scriptual pieces as time allows.
Also we we will hopefully be including some in the future about some of our traditional ceremonies such as naming, sweat lodge etc as culturally appropriate. Beginning in October we will be having monthly cultural teachings at the Lumen house on Hardesty Road. Teachings will include but not be limited to pipe ceremony, sweat lodge, origin stories, etc. These teaching will be scheduled for the second weekend of each month. The first series is set for the Weekend of October 13th-14th. For more information please contact the language department.
